Sprite Dust to re-summon your set

Rough community estimate — Epic doesn't publish Dust costs.

What are Fortnite Sprites?

Fortnite sprites are collectible companions introduced in Chapter 7 Season 3 of Battle Royale. Each Fortnite sprite is a little creature with its own passive ability — from replenishing your shields to boosting your loot — that travels with you into a match once you have unlocked it.

You find sprites inside chests, Sprite Chests, Relic (Rare) Chests, and supply drops during a match. Finding one isn't enough on its own: to keep a sprite permanently you have to extract it at an Extraction Site, or with a Portable Extractor, before the match ends. After that it's yours for good, and you can summon it in future matches by spending the Sprite Dust currency.

There are 24 Fortnite sprites in total. Because most of them come in several collectible variants, the complete set is 109 — and that's exactly what the sprite checklist above helps you check off, variant by variant, until your locker hits 100%.

Sprite Variants explained

Most sprites come in Normal, Gold, Gummy and Galaxy; some also have newer variants like Gem, Holofoil, Cube or Quack, and a handful of Mythics have no variants at all. Each variant stacks an extra bonus on top of the sprite's own ability — so a Gummy Fire still releases its fiery burst, plus the Gummy reward.

NormalBase

The standard sprite with just its own ability — no extra bonus.

GoldBonus XP

Grants bonus XP from eliminations. A rarer drop that costs more Sprite Dust to summon.

Gummy+10% Dust

Awards +10% Sprite Dust whenever you extract a sprite.

Galaxy+20% Ammo

Gives +20% more ammo when looting. Added June 18, 2026.

Gem−30% Fall

Takes 30% less fall damage, on top of the sprite's own ability.

HolofoilRare Finds

Gives your squad a 5% better chance to find rare sprites.

CubeStorm Overdrive

Triggers Overdrive while you're caught in the Storm, so you move faster on the way back to the zone. Added July 23, 2026.

QuackShared XP

Whenever this sprite earns progress, every other sprite in your match inventory gains an extra 50% of it. The Water, Earth, Fire and Zero Point Quacks unlock at Sprite Mastery 35, 40, 45 and 55.

How to get Gummy, Galaxy, Gold or the newer sprites: you don't unlock variants separately — you find each one in chests and extract it during a match, exactly like the Normal version. When you spot a variant in a chest, grab it and extract it to add it to your collection. Gem and Holofoil arrived with the June 25, 2026 expansion, Cube followed on July 23, and the July 30 update added Quack — the one variant you earn through Sprite Mastery instead of finding it in a chest.

Fortnite Sprites FAQ

What are Fortnite sprites?

Fortnite sprites are collectible companions introduced in Chapter 7 Season 3 of Battle Royale. You find them in chests during a match and extract them to unlock them permanently, then summon them in future matches using Sprite Dust. Each sprite has its own passive ability.

How many sprites are in Fortnite?

There are 24 Fortnite sprites after the July 30, 2026 update, which added John Wick, Ironmouse, Peely and Llama. Counting every variant, the full collection is 109 — most sprites come in Normal, Gold, Gummy and Galaxy, with some also offering newer Gem, Holofoil, Cube or Quack variants, while five Mythics (Burnt Peanut, Vini Jr., Pollo, John Wick and Ironmouse) only come in their standard form.

Is there a Fortnite sprite checklist?

Yes — spritelocker is a free, interactive Fortnite sprite checklist. Tick off each sprite and variant as you extract it, and the tracker keeps a running completion percentage so you can see exactly what you still need — Normal, Gold, Gummy and Galaxy, plus the newer Gem, Holofoil, Cube and Quack.

How do I get sprites in Fortnite?

You find sprites inside chests, Sprite Chests, Relic (Rare) Chests, and supply drops during a match. To keep one permanently you must extract it at an Extraction Site or with a Portable Extractor. Once unlocked, you summon it in later matches using Sprite Dust.

What are the Fortnite sprite variants?

Most sprites come in four core variants: Normal, Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy. Gold gives bonus elimination XP, Gummy gives +10% Sprite Dust on extraction, and Galaxy gives +20% more ammo when looting. Some sprites also have newer variants — Gem (−30% fall damage), Holofoil (better squad odds to find rare sprites), Cube (Overdrive while you're in the Storm) and Quack (shares half its progress with your other sprites). Each variant stacks its bonus on top of the sprite's own ability.

How do I get Gummy sprites?

Gummy is a sprite variant you find and extract just like any other. Extracting a Gummy sprite also rewards +10% Sprite Dust, so it is worth prioritising when you spot one in a chest.

How do I get Galaxy sprites?

Galaxy arrived on June 18, 2026, and you obtain it the same way as any other sprite — find it in a chest and extract it. The Galaxy variant grants +20% more ammo when looting. It is no longer the newest variant, though: Gem and Holofoil followed on June 25, Cube on July 23, and Quack on July 30, 2026.

What do Gold sprites do?

Gold sprites grant bonus XP from eliminations on top of the sprite's own ability. They are a rarer drop and cost more Sprite Dust to summon than the Normal version.

Why doesn't Burnt Peanut have variants?

Burnt Peanut is a Mythic that only exists in its standard Normal form, so it counts as a single entry rather than a full row. It is no longer alone, though — Vini Jr., Pollo, John Wick and Ironmouse are Normal-only Mythics too.

What is the rarest sprite in Fortnite?

Mythic is the highest rarity tier, above Rare, Epic and Legendary, and there are now eight Mythic sprites: Batman, Grim Reaper, Zero Point, Burnt Peanut, Vini Jr., Pollo, John Wick and Ironmouse. Zero Point is the hardest to come across in an ordinary match, since it only turns up in vault and keycard Sprite Chests, while Burnt Peanut drops from Relic Chests at roughly 1.5%.

What is the Quack sprite variant?

Quack is the newest variant, added on July 30, 2026, and it is the only one you cannot find in a chest. You earn it through Sprite Mastery instead: the Water, Earth, Fire and Zero Point Quacks unlock at Sprite Mastery 35, 40, 45 and 55. Whenever a Quack sprite gains progress, every other sprite in your match inventory gains an extra 50% of it.

How do I get the Peely and Llama sprites?

Both are Legendary and arrived with the July 30, 2026 update. Peely marks nearby rare sprite variants and the enemies carrying them, from 40m up to 80m at max level — but it reveals your own location too. Llama gives you a chance to upgrade your weapon whenever you open an ammo box, rising from 5% to 20% as it levels. Look for them in Relic Chests, plus Sprite and Rare Chests around Golden Grove and Calamari Canyon.
