Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 July 2026

Sprite Locker (spritelocker.com) is a free, unofficial Fortnite sprite checklist and optional player trading tool operated by Formframe ApS.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have.

It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Sprite Locker is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Epic Games, Inc.

The short version

If you only use the checklist, your collection stays in your browser and we collect nothing about you.

Your data reaches our servers only when you choose to:

  • use sprite trading;
  • sign in;
  • link Discord;
  • subscribe as a supporter;
  • enable collection sync.

If you never use these features, your checklist remains entirely on your own device.

Using the checklist

The basic checklist works without an account.

Your collection and display preferences are stored locally in your own browser.

We do not receive:

  • your checklist;
  • your ticks;
  • your preferences;
  • your browsing history.

Clearing your browser data for Sprite Locker permanently removes this local information.

We hold no copy and cannot restore it.

Using sprite trading

When you start a trade search, Sprite Locker receives and processes the information needed to find a suitable match.

This includes:

Epic display name

The Epic display name you provide is shown to the player you are matched with so they can add you in Fortnite.

Your Epic display name is personal data because it can identify you within the Fortnite ecosystem.

Choose carefully — it is the identity the trading feature operates around.

Sprite ownership information

We receive:

  • which sprites you own;
  • which sprites you are looking for.

This information is used only to create suitable trade matches.

We keep this information only while your trade search is active and remove it when the search ends.

IP address

We temporarily process your IP address to protect the trade queue and prevent abuse, such as automated requests or attempts to overload the service.

IP addresses are retained only for this purpose and are normally deleted within 7 days.

Trade and review history

When two players are matched, we store a trade record containing:

  • both Epic display names;
  • the sprites proposed by each side;
  • the date and time of the match.

If a player leaves a review, we store:

  • the review result;
  • any optional comment;
  • the Epic display names involved.

Trade and review records are retained indefinitely because they form the foundation of the reputation system.

The purpose is to help protect users by allowing previous scam reports and trading behaviour to remain visible.

We retain these records under our legitimate interest in:

  • preventing fraud;
  • protecting users;
  • maintaining the integrity of the reputation system.

Removing these records on request would allow users to erase warnings about previous behaviour whenever those warnings became inconvenient.

Trade chat messages

Matched traders may be able to exchange short text messages to coordinate their trade.

From a trade chat, we store:

  • the messages themselves;
  • which side of the trade sent each message;
  • when each message was sent.

The chat can be used for 24 hours after the match. Messages are then retained for up to 90 days as evidence for scam reports and other disputes, and deleted after that — unless a conversation has been reported, in which case it is kept until a moderator has reviewed it.

Either participant can report a conversation; reporting pauses it and makes it visible to moderators.

Because trade chats are tied to the trade record rather than to an account, they follow the same rule as trades and reviews above: deleting an account does not delete them before their retention period ends.

Friends and direct messages

Signed-in users can become friends and exchange direct messages.

From these features, we store:

  • who is friends with whom, and who asked;
  • blocks, and who placed them;
  • the messages themselves, who sent them, and when;
  • how far each participant has read.

Direct messages are kept while the friendship exists. Removing a friend deletes the conversation for both sides; blocking keeps it. Either participant can report a conversation, which pauses it and makes it visible to moderators.

Deleting your account deletes your friendships and your direct message conversations, on both sides.

Public collection pages

Subscribers can publish a collection as a public page behind a randomly generated link.

The page shows the collection's contents, its display name, and whether that name is Epic-verified — nothing else about the account. It is visible to anyone with the link while the subscription is active, stops being served when it lapses, and can be turned off at any time from the account page.

Trade offers

Signed-in users can send a trade offer to a public collection page. From an offer, we store the sprites proposed by each side, the sender's Epic display name, and the offer's outcome. Offers expire after 7 days if unanswered.

An accepted offer becomes an ordinary trade record and follows the trade and review retention described above. Unaccepted offers are deleted with the account of either party.

Signing in

Signing in is optional.

Sprite Locker supports account linking through third-party providers.

Epic Games login

Epic Games authentication allows us to:

  • verify your Epic display name;
  • associate that name with your account;
  • prevent another account from claiming the same trading identity.

We do not receive your Epic password.

Discord linking

Discord linking is optional.

Discord does not verify anything about Fortnite ownership.

It is only used to apply roles from the Sprite Locker Discord server to your Sprite Locker account.

We only check membership and relevant roles in that specific server.

We do not access:

  • your Discord server list;
  • your private messages;
  • unrelated Discord information.

Information stored when you sign in

If you sign in, we store:

  • your account identifier from each provider you connect;
  • the display name provided by that provider;
  • your verified Epic display name;
  • whether you hold relevant Discord roles;
  • a session cookie used to keep you signed in.

The session cookie lasts up to 30 days or until you sign out.

We never receive or store:

  • your passwords;
  • your email address unless explicitly required by a provider in the future;
  • your friends list;
  • unrelated profile information.

Supporter payments

If you take out a supporter subscription (or made a one-time supporter donation before subscriptions were introduced), payment is processed by Stripe.

Your card details are sent directly to Stripe.

We never see or store your full payment card information.

From a subscription or donation, we store:

  • that your account has Supporter status;
  • when Supporter status started;
  • Stripe payment, customer and subscription identifiers;
  • the amount and currency paid;
  • when the current subscription period ends and whether the subscription is set to cancel;
  • whether a payment was later refunded.

Deleting your account cancels an active subscription at Stripe immediately.

Payment records may remain after account deletion because we are required to retain financial records for accounting and tax purposes.

After deletion, payment records are no longer linked to your account where legally possible.

Collection sync

Supporters may choose to store their checklist on their account so it can be used across devices.

Collection sync is optional.

The stored checklist uses the same compact encoded format used by the share-link feature.

The stored data represents only your checklist selections.

It does not contain:

  • your browsing history;
  • additional personal information;
  • information about your device.

Collection sync data is deleted when you delete your account.

Moderation and safety

Authorised Sprite Locker administrators may access:

  • Epic display names;
  • trade records;
  • reviews.

This access is used only to:

  • investigate scam reports;
  • remove fraudulent reviews;
  • protect users;
  • maintain the reputation system.

Administrator access is not used for unrelated purposes.

Third-party services

Sprite Locker uses selected third-party providers to operate the service.

These include:

Stripe

Payment and subscription processing.

Stripe receives payment information directly when you subscribe as a supporter, and manages the recurring billing for the subscription.

Cloudflare

Hosting, security, and protection against abuse.

Cloudflare may process requests while delivering the website.

Epic Games

Authentication when you choose to sign in.

Discord

Optional account linking and role verification.

Buy Me a Coffee

Support widget functionality.

International data transfers

Some third-party providers used by Sprite Locker may process data outside the European Economic Area.

Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law are used.

Sprite Locker is not directed at children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

If you are under 18, you must have permission from your parent or legal guardian to use these features, including permission for any payment made using a payment method they authorise. See the Terms of Service .
